Perhaps the most popular film shown in the ride, “The Wizard of Oz” is the 1939 MGM blockbuster based off of the books by L. Frank Baum. Dorothy, a Kansas farm girl dreams of escaping her mundane problems in lieu of finding another world over the rainbow. A cyclone arrives and picks up her house and drops it into the land of Oz, atop of the Wicked Witch of the West. Oz is a strange and beautiful place, but Dorothy longs to return home to see her family again. When the Wicked Witch of the East sees what happened, she blames Dorothy for her sister's death and seeks revenge. Dorothy is helped by the Good Witch of the North and is told to find the great and powerful wizard of Oz. Granting her the power of the ruby slippers, Dorothy and her dog, Toto, travel through Oz towards the wizard's home in the Emerald City. Along the way she meets new friends that join her on her journey.
