Where Is It?

Despite being a landmark attraction of an entire theme park, people often ask where The Great Movie Ride is located. The obvious answer is that the attraction is in the center of the Disney Hollywood Studios in Orlando, FL. Unlike many attractions in Disney theme parks, The Great Movie Ride is exclusive to the Disney Hollywood Studios.

Within the park, the building is housed directly in the center in the large Chinese Theatre. In 2001, Disney built a large monument of Mickey's sorcerer hat, from “Fantasia”, directly in front of the building. From the park gate, the Chinese Theater in which The Great Movie Ride is housed, is not visible. Even on various park maps, the sorcerer's hat obscures the building. For this reason, many people unknowingly skip the attraction because they walk in front of the sorcerer's hat, never discovering the magic that awaits them. Likewise, many people discover the attraction because of the lure to the oversized hat.
